It's ok to not be ok...

As a dancer there was so much pressure to be thin.  She heard it everywhere and if you gained weight, it was pointed out to you in front of everyone.  So she learned, she learned how to purge, she learned how to count every calorie and she learned to not enjoy the taste of food anymore because food to her was disgusting.

She had panic attacks, crying fits and severe anxiety over food and everyday was a constant struggle to make herself eat.  She couldn’t process in her mind that her body needed food to stay alive; she didn’t want the extra weight and she couldn’t see she was going to die if she didn’t get the help she obviously needed.

So now, she eats for those around her because it hurts them when she doesn’t.  She has the support of those who love her and if she didn’t, she knows she wouldn’t be here today.

it’s ok to not be ok, it’s ok to ask for help, it’s ok…
