The Voices...

They recruited her right out of University, and she found out later, they had been watching her for a long time. They called her  ‘The secret keeper’ and she was legendary for protecting them.   She was hired to ‘make things go away’ and ‘solve problems’ for people who got themselves into trouble.  The truth she could tell could easily get her killed.   

At first she loved her job but as the years went by, the burdens and stress started to take their toll on her so much that they requested she take time off work and seek help but she knew what they were doing.  They must have found out she was going to leave because the next thing she knew, they had a microchip inserted in her ear.  

Since that day, she can now hear them talking to her.  Their voices are all around her, whispering in her ear day and night like bees buzzing around a hive.  They try to trick her with speaking as different people in different languages but what they don’t realize is, she knows what they are saying so she is always one step ahead of them.  

She knew she had to get out of there or she would lose her mind so she ran.  She left everything behind, her home, her car, and her life.  She disguises herself as a homeless woman who lives under a blue tarp begging for spare change.  She keeps moving around a lot not because she wants to but because she has to. It’s worked for her so far, they haven’t found her yet but she knows one day they will…
