When she looks in the mirror at the end of the day she still sees the chubby girl she used to be. Even when people tell her she is beautiful, she has a hard time believing what they are saying. She feels this impacts her children because it's difficult to adjust to their pace at times. As a single mom, she feels like it's not an option to allow herself to fall apart because there are too many who depend on her. When I asked these girls what they love about their mama, they shyly giggled and looked at each other to see who was going to say something first. They told me she is pretty and smells sooo good! They love when they all go for walks, followed by snuggles at bedtime and stories from their favourite books. They love her cooking and when she plays the piano and sings for them. They think she is funny and love to hear her laugh. They also mentioned how thankful they are because she takes them to all their activities and they have a lot of fun together.
