Pauline...
When she looks at the mirror at the end of the day, she sees and owns all the hurtful words that have been thrown at her. She's been teased about her weight, her height, her nose, you name it, she's heard it. The cruel words that have stuck to her and the self doubt is now her armour. Nights are the worst as she plays the day over in her head and wonders how she could've been more successful. "A woman brain is like a ball of yarn" she said, "once it start's the worrying process, it's hard to stop". In the meantime, her husband is sound asleep, softly snoring.
When I asked her what she loves about her mama, she smiled and told me she loves her eyes, because they sparkle, her hair and her cute lil button nose. She told me her mama's beautiful smile always makes her smile every time she sees it. She also mentioned her mama is always there for her. She helps her though tough times and when she's not feeling good about herself, her mama tells her, she's good just the way she is.
